Noticeboard

The first phase of the bell rehanging project has now commenced.
The bells were removed from the tower on 24th January 2007 as the first phase of a two-phase refurbishment and rehanging project. They are due to be rehung in April with normal ringing due to commence by the end of the month. A second phase to the project is still being finalised and this is to build a new gallery below the existing ringing chamber. Dates for this second phase have yet to be established. On Saturday 29th January 2005 a quiz night was arranged in aid of the Rusper bell resoration fund.
The night was a great success. We raised a total of £665 toward the Rusper bell re-hanging fund. The quiz was held at 'The Barn' in the Causeway, Horsham. 26 teams of 4 people filled the hall to capacity. Due to the success of last years event tickets sold out quickly. Hot food was provided at the interval. A team from Faygate, 'David Blunket's Trousers', won the first prize of wine. A raffle comprising 20 prizes, donated by ringers from many towers, raised £190. The event was organised by the Rusper ringers with each member delegated a task. Catering was organised by members from St Mary's Church.

On Saturday 27th March 2004 a one day 'Bell Ringing - Introduction' course was held in the church.
Pictures of this event can be seen below.

As last year, the teams were named after the two local pubs at Rusper, the Star and the Plough. Again we were successful with the 'The Ploughs' team coming third and the 'The Stars' coming fourth against strong competition. Team pictures are posted below.
